Privacy notice

This notice explains what personal information the darkpools.co.za website collects, why, and the choices you have. It covers this website only. Use of the Dark Pools platform and services is governed by the agreements with each client.

01Who we are

The responsible party for this website is Dark Pools (Pty) Ltd, Georgestraat 89, Suite 2172, 7140 Kaapstad, Western Cape, South Africa. You can reach our information officer through the contact page by choosing the enquiry type “Other” and starting your message with “Privacy”.

02What we collect

When you contact us. The contact form asks for your name, email address, phone number, job title, organization, sector, country, area of enquiry and your message. We use this only to respond to your enquiry and to manage any resulting business relationship.

When you browse. We measure site performance and page popularity with Vercel Web Analytics and Speed Insights, which do not use cookies and report aggregated figures. If you allow analytics, we also use Google Analytics, which sets cookies to distinguish visits.

In your browser only. Your cookie choice and your answers to the FinCrime maturity assessment are stored in your own browser. They are not sent to us unless you choose to share your results through the contact form.

03How and why we use it

  • To answer enquiries and arrange demonstrations, on the basis of your request and our legitimate interest in responding.
  • To understand which pages are useful and improve the site, on the basis of your consent where cookies are involved.
  • To keep the website secure and prevent abuse, on the basis of our legitimate interest.

04Who we share it with

We do not sell personal information. We share it only with operators who process it on our behalf:

  • Vercel, which hosts this website and provides cookieless analytics.
  • Formspree, which receives contact-form submissions and delivers them to our team by email.
  • Google, for Google Analytics, only if you allow analytics cookies.

These providers may process information outside South Africa or the European Union, including in the United States. Where that happens we rely on the safeguards the law requires, such as contractual protections.

05Cookies and your choices

We use no advertising cookies. Google Analytics cookies are set only after you choose “Allow analytics”. Choosing “Essential only” keeps them off and removes any set under an earlier choice.

06How long we keep it

We keep enquiry information for as long as needed to respond and to manage any business relationship that follows, and then delete or anonymize it, unless the law requires us to keep it longer.

07Your rights

Under the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA) and, where it applies, the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), you can ask to access, correct or delete your personal information, object to its processing, or withdraw consent at any time. Contact us through the contact page to make a request.

You may also complain to the Information Regulator of South Africa, or to the data protection authority in your EU country of residence.

08Security

The site is served over HTTPS with a restrictive content security policy. Submissions are validated, size-limited and protected against automated spam. See Trust & security for how the platform itself protects data.

09Changes to this notice

We will update this page when our practices change and show the date of the latest revision at the top.
